All children under the age of 18 are able to have an orthodontic assessment under the NHS – these assessments are free of charge. Your dentist can refer your child for one of these with Dr Josh using our dental referral service. If you are not currently registered at a dentist then please call in for a registration appointment with Southside Dental Care. After registration you will be able to get an NHS appointment with Dr Josh.
During the assessment Dr Josh will use the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN) to identify whether the treatment required will be covered by the NHS. Only severe and some moderate cases will qualify for NHS treatment.
If after assessment your child does not qualify then Dr Josh will be able to provide alternative private treatments to ensure your child gets the smile they deserve.
